Brief Introduction of QPL

Qingdao Port Logistics Company ( hereafter called “QPL”) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qingdao Port ( Group ) Company, which is a state-owned company. QPL's main facility is located just behind Qingdao port container terminals, occupying an area of 920,000 sqm. Currently, QPL has 512 staff members. At its initial development, QPL is dedicated in building eight bases, i.e., Export CFS, Import distribution Center, Container on-hire/ off-hire base, Empty container distribution base, Inter-modal ( Sea-Rail ) base, Inspection and Quarantine base, Hazardous cargo handling base and Container M&R base. In North China, QPL is standing as the No. 1 container logistics center in terms of total investment, land coverage and functionality.

Computerized with advanced CFS & TMS information system, QPL has an information highway in place between the Terminals, local Customs, Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Railway and Shipping lines. Equipped with various advanced machinery, QPL is able to provide high-quality service for almost all the customer's needs.

The follows is an introduction of QPL's current service scope:

•  Export CFS for full container

The CFS is located in Qingdao new port area with a large storage area of 30 hectares. It is well equipped with first-class container handling equipment including four reach stackers, four empty container handler, 28 trailers and 18 forklifts. With advanced communication establishment and first-class operation system, customers are able to inquire about container controlling information on-line. The CFS' monthly handling capacity is up to 30,000 TEU.

•  Export consolidation service

Export consolidation base covers 5 hectares with one newly built warehouse of 10,000 sqm each. At present, It handles about 2000 TEU monthly. Another new warehouse has been planned to provide dedicated service for specific use.

•  Hazardous cargo storage and operation

QPL operates a dedicated hazardous cargo storage area which covers 27,000 sqm. It is the only entity in Qingdao who has been licensed to operate hazardous container cargo and authorized to be responsible for the declaration of hazardous container cargo in Qingdao Port.

•  Inter-modal ( Sea- Rail ) service

The port railway station covers a planned area of 280,000 sqm with 2 warehouses of each 10,000 sqm. It plays an important part to handle inland shipment of central and western China. Its annual handling capacity is up to 250,000 TEU.

•  Container on/off hire service

Container on/off hire service base is located just by the terminal with an area of 100,000 sqm. It is dedicated to serve all the customers needs from home to oversea.

•  Container maintenance & repair

QPL has a dedicated M & R depot of 20,000 sqm with a repair workshop of 2600 sqm. It also provide reefer PTI and other related service. Experienced technical professionals compose a great M&R team, including 6 IICL certified inspectors. Currently, QPL also act as authorized district service provider for 2 world famous reefer unit manufactures, CARRIER TRANSICOLD and DAIKIN.

•  Reefer generator-set leasing

At present, QPL has a pool of 28 generator-sets in place and is able to provide our customers leasing service round the clock.

•  Barging service

Four barges are in operation with total carrying capacity of 500TEU. Operation is an exclusive one and the service is provided round the clock between the old port and the new port.

•  Import devanning and distribution service

It covers 10 hectares with one newly built warehouse of 10,000 sqm. At present, it serves mainly for raw material distribution, such as paper pulp, cotton. One more warehouse has been planned for bonded use.

•  10. Customs brokerage service

Taking advantage of our strong connection with local customs, QPL also operate an independent customs brokerage house, especially for container service.

•  Feeder vessel service

A weekly feeder vessel service (Qingdao/Lanshan/ Sheyang ) is in operation to support the hub function of the container terminal.

•  Customs inspection Service

Cooperating with the Customs, QPL offers import/export cargos Customs inspection service.

•  Freight Forwarding Service

Shenzhou International Freight Forwarding agent is a newly built joint-venture with COSCO Qingdao, which is a first-class agant and win-win program.
